Capturing assets to be used over the next decade
THE CHALLENGE
The Signal Box was approached by Transport for NSW to assist in capturing creative assets for the new Zero Emission Buses rolling out across the network. The purpose of the engagement was to establish a transport gallery of still and motion visual assets that can be used for multiple purposes throughout the project’s decade-long life cycle. And to add the pressure, the project had to be delivered in just over a week from first contact. With that in mind, we jumped in to assist Transport NSW in this tight turnaround, open-ended scope, point-and-shoot project.

WHAT WE DID
Over three consecutive days, we covered three locations across Greater Sydney showcasing the stages of manufacturing a Zero Emissions Bus (ZEB), through to them rolling out of the depot for service. The shot list included: local manufacturing and staff at work, bus assembly, different components being manufactured, the Transport NSW team engaging with industry stakeholders, battery packs, electric motors, staff in training, chargers, buses charging, the dash and cockpit, depot staff working, ZEB buses on the road and in service, and of course showing off the finished buses in style. And yes, we said three days across three locations, turned around in a week…
Armed with our run-and-gun rig, we dived in and captured stunning video and photography of these new Zero Emission Busses; the workers, environment, team spirit, and impact. And now, the content is in circulation for both internal and external use and will be for at least the next 10 years. Amazing what can be achieved in a week’s work.
